Chapter 11

One of the traditional audio technologies is the overhead projector, in which teachers can project text onto a white screen or wall. I would possibly use this to display an outline for what I will teach for that specific class. Cassette tapes are one of the traditional audio technologies. I can record a conversation in Spanish on these and have my students listen to them to test their comprehension. These technologies are fine, but I would prefer working with something more modern. For example, the digital projector is an emerging visual technology. I can use this the same way I would use an overhead projector, with a few extras. The digital projector gives you the option to edit your documents and possibly include pictures and animations. Also, I can use the internet to my advantage as well. Youtube is an emerging audio and visual technology in which I can have my students watch videos in Spanish and possibly even make their own videos.
